FOR AUTHORS
A publishing house
that stays with the book.
Selective publishing. Close editorial development. Considered production. A marketing plan built around the actual reader.
THE MODEL, CLEARLY
Editorial selection and commercial services are separate decisions.
The Nouvel Édition publishing list is curated. A manuscript is considered because of the work — not because an author buys a package.
Where the house offers optional paid marketing, production or advisory services, those are scoped and agreed separately. Purchasing a service does not secure publication and does not influence editorial acceptance.
PUBLISHED BY THE HOUSE
The Nouvel Édition list
For manuscripts selected editorially for publication by Nouvel Édition. The publishing plan is built title by title across editing, design, production, positioning and launch.
NOUVEL ÉDITION STUDIO
Marketing & publishing support
Optional project-based support for selected authors, independent publishers and commissioned projects that need senior editorial, production or book-marketing expertise without necessarily joining the Nouvel Édition publishing list.
HOW AUTHORS ENTER THE HOUSE
From manuscript to audience.
01
Submit
Send the work during an open submission period. We look for a distinctive voice, a strong idea and a clear reason for the book to exist.
02
Conversation
If there is editorial fit, we talk about the manuscript, the author, the intended reader and what the project could become.
03
Develop
Editorial and design decisions are made around the work. The aim is to strengthen the book without erasing the author’s voice.
04
Make
Format, typography, production and route-to-market are planned according to the project rather than a fixed package.
05
Launch & build
The book enters the world with a positioning and audience plan designed to continue beyond publication week.
MARKETING & AUDIENCE
Marketing belongs inside the publishing process.
Authors should not have to become their own publishing department the moment the files are finished.
The house’s Marketing & Audience division works from the book outward: who it is for, how it should be positioned, where those readers already are and which activities are actually worth doing.
Positioning, metadata & discoverability
Title positioning, descriptions, categories, keywords, author biography, retailer metadata, search visibility and the language used to explain the book to readers, media and trade.
Launch strategy & campaign creative
Campaign architecture, launch calendar, social and email creative, author website direction, campaign assets and a clear division of responsibilities between house and author.
Press, reviewers, booksellers & partnerships
Media materials, review-copy planning, bookseller-facing information, relevant partnerships and targeted outreach where there is a credible reason for the title to be considered.
Paid media & long-tail growth
Where appropriate, campaigns may include digital advertising, audience testing, retargeting, evergreen content and post-launch activity designed to keep the title discoverable over time.
What we do not promise: bestseller status, guaranteed reviews, automatic bookstore placement or a one-size-fits-all campaign. Marketing scope is agreed title by title and should be proportionate to the opportunity.
PRODUCTION & DISTRIBUTION
Not a dashboard. A publishing team.
The infrastructure matters — but it should serve the book rather than become the whole publishing experience.
Depending on the project, a route to market may combine print-on-demand, short-run or offset production, ebooks, wholesale distribution, retailer metadata, direct-to-reader sales and territory-specific options. We can work with established third-party publishing infrastructure while keeping editorial, design and marketing judgement human-led.
Production and distribution arrangements are confirmed in writing for each project; availability in a system does not by itself guarantee bookstore stocking or sales.
A GOOD FIT
We are interested in authors who want to build something properly.
You have a point of view.
The subject can be familiar. The way you see it should contribute something.
You are open to collaboration.
Editing is part of publishing. We want authors who care about making the work stronger, not simply getting it uploaded.
You care about the reader.
A strong book deserves a thoughtful path to its audience. Author and house both have a role in that process.
